To be eligible for the program the student's family household income must not exceed 250% of the current 2013 federal poverty guidelines as established by the Federal Office of Management and Budget.  This table, provided by the Louisiana Department of Education, will be used to determine income eligibility.

Far too many Louisiana students are stuck in failing schools.  To be eligible for the SSEE program a child must be enrolled in a public school during the 2012-2013 school year that was labeled C, D or F.  Students who will be attending Kindergarten for the first time in the fall of 2013 may also apply. The deadline for schools to apply is January 31, and the student process begins February 4.
